ONEONTA _ Seth Stuart Martindale, 45, of Oneonta, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Jan. 21, 1963, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, the son of Doris and Stuart Martindale.
Seth was raised in Milford, where he attended Milford Central School and later graduated from Delhi Tech, where he was a member of the soccer team.
On Aug. 30, 1986, Seth married Bobbie-Sue Johnson at the Elm Park Methodist Church in Oneonta. It was a celebration of love lasting 25 years that will continue into the next lifetime.
For the last 18 years, Seth was fortunate to work for Jett Industries, Inc., hauling heavy equipment. He was truly blessed to have a job he loved, developing lasting friendships including Matt, Danny, Tommy and Jim, and fulfilling a boyhood dream of driving truck.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; and son, Ethan; his mother, Doris Martindale; brother, Reginald Tully; niece, Donna Tully and family; an aunt, Virginia Martindale and family; his uncles, James and Joseph Finch and their families; his in-laws, Rita and Earl Johnson of Oneonta; his brothers-in-law, Tad and Leslie and a daughter, Emma, Johnson of Delmar, Earl and Brook Johnson and family of West Winfield; sisters-in-law, Lark and Keith Byam of Oneonta, Pat and Bill Moore of Morris; his nieces, Stacia and Harry and their children, Dylan and baby Lilly, Bridger of Cortland, Lori Leahy and Mike Basso of West Deptford, N.J., Sarah and Scott and daughter, Jasmine, Wessel of Alexander, Kristen Bays-Moore; and nephews, David Moore of Florida, and Robert and Kevin Byam and families of Oneonta. He is also survived by his best friends, his dogs, Ginger and Duffy and his Kitty Fritzi.
He was predeceased by his father, Stuart Martindale.
A family man at heart, Seth enjoyed spending time with those closest to him, creating lasting memories. Seth was a quiet observer and a gracious man. He was someone who always offered good advice.
He was an avid traveler and enjoyed photography. He found excitement and fun in outdoor activities including snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and working with his hands.
Using his carpentry skills and with his love of the outdoors, Seth created a beautiful home. |
